Simple dietary and lifestyle changes can make a world of difference in restoring metabolic balance. When we eat fresh, whole, real food -- the way that nature made it -- the way our ancestors ate -- we encourage our bodies to thrive and heal. However, when we consume food-like substances(processed, packaged, refined, chemical laden foods), which our bodies don't recognize as food, we set the stage for inflammatory conditions and after time we become chronically ill.

There is a wealth of nutrition and health information out there, but how do you know what to believe? As a nutrition professional I have the education and knowledge to help you sort through all the conflicting information and develop a plan that works for YOU.
I am trained in therapeutic diets for various health conditions. I practice evidence based nutrition, proven methods through scientific studies, to help you with the health issues you are struggling with. I believe in bio-individuality, no one-size-fits-all, designing programs for your own unique needs. I use a holistic approach, addressing the whole person, not focusing only on the health condition.
The idea behind nutrition is that when properly grown and prepared, foods and the nutrients found in foods, can be supportive of health, enhancing quality of life and well being. I provide health support complementary to, not in place of that provided by a physician. I do not diagnose disease and my services are not meant to replace competent medical care.
My Health Beliefs:
I believe prevention is the best cure. Science is now confirming the importance of nutrition. Good health and disease prevention is best accomplished through dietary and lifestyle habits. Many health conditions are basically caused by nutrient deficiencies, environmental toxicities, stress and imbalances within the body. Without proper nutrition we can impair the body’s normal processes. Good health is more than just the absence of disease. Symptoms are the body's way of telling us something is off balance and disease starts many years before it manifests itself as symptoms.
I believe in whole foods as nature intended. Whole foods, in other words, food in its natural, beautiful, unprocessed, unrefined state will promote optimal health and protect against many different diseases. A plant based diet is rich in the antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients our bodies need to function properly. Food is medicine. Food is not only nourishment but information to our bodies. It affects our weight, our aging, our energy levels, our mental and physical health, which all contribute to our overall sense of well-being. Eating a whole foods diet of high quality, nutrient dense foods will restore your body's natural state of balance and vitality.
I believe we should take responsibility for our own health. Health is determined by our diet and lifestyle, which primarily influences how our genes are expressed. So while your genes may make you predisposed to certain illnesses, lifestyle choices can influence whether or not they actually develop. Most of the chronic degenerative diseases- cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, digestive disorders, arthritis, loss of mental function, and even many cancers-are the result of dietary, lifestyle and environmental choices we make that result in how our genes are expressed. We are not separate from, but highly interactive with our environment.
I believe you can achieve renewed health and vitality. I educate you to be aware of ways to support your natural health and balance and to achieve your ideal weight. I teach you how to be proactive in your own health so that after the program you have the knowledge to follow through. I provide instruction, counseling, support, condition specific educational handouts, meal plans, shopping lists and supplement recommendations to make it easy for you to reach and maintain a renewed sense of health vitality.
